These terms and conditions apply to all bookings and services provided by Makeup by Nykkol (referred to throughout as "Nykkol", "I", "me" or "my"). By making a booking or paying a deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with any booking.

Bookings & Deposits
All bookings are provisional until a non-refundable booking fee has been received and confirmed in writing. This booking fee secures your date exclusively and is deducted from your final balance.
- A non-refundable booking fee of £50 is required to secure all bridal bookings.
- For non-bridal bookings, a deposit may be required at the time of booking — this will be confirmed at enquiry stage.
- Your date will not be held without a paid booking fee. Provisional holds can be offered at my discretion for a maximum of 7 days.
- Booking confirmation will be sent via email once the deposit has been received.
- By paying your deposit you confirm you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
- Should an assistant artist be required, this will be communicated clearly and a revised quote issued prior to the additional fee being charged.

Payment Terms
All prices are as quoted at the time of booking. Prices are subject to change but any confirmed booking will be honoured at the agreed price.
- The remaining balance for bridal bookings is due 48 hours prior to the wedding date.
- For all other bookings, full payment is due on the day of the appointment unless otherwise agreed.
- Payment is accepted via bank transfer. Details will be provided on your booking confirmation.
- Late payment may result in the booking being released. I reserve the right to withhold services until payment is received in full.
- All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

Cancellations & Refunds
I understand that circumstances can change. The following cancellation policy applies to all bookings:
- The booking fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.
- Cancellation with more than 8 weeks' notice — booking fee is forfeited; no further charge applies.
- Cancellation with 4–8 weeks' notice — 50% of the total balance is due.
- Cancellation with less than 4 weeks' notice — 100% of the total balance is due.
- Cancellation must be made in writing (email is acceptable) and is effective from the date received.
- Deposits and payments are non-transferable to another date unless agreed in writing.
Date changes: I will always try to accommodate a change of date where possible. If I am available on the new date, the booking fee will transfer. If I am unavailable, standard cancellation terms apply. I strongly recommend taking out wedding insurance to cover unexpected changes.

Cancellation by Me
In the extremely unlikely event that I am unable to fulfil your booking due to serious illness, injury, or circumstances entirely beyond my control:
- I will notify you as soon as possible.
- All monies paid (including the booking fee) will be refunded in full within 14 days.
- I will make every reasonable effort to source a suitable replacement artist of equivalent experience and standard.
- I cannot be held liable for costs beyond the fees paid to me (e.g. venue, travel, other suppliers).

Bridal Previews
A bridal preview is strongly recommended and is treated as a separate appointment to your wedding day booking.
- Trials are charged at £100 and are payable in advance or on the day of the preview.
- Previews are typically held at my home studio in Hertfordshire, though alternative arrangements can be discussed.
- Please bring any inspiration images, accessories, and ideally wear a similar neckline to your wedding dress.
- The preview fee is not refundable if cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice.
- A preview does not secure your wedding date — a separate booking fee is required for this.

Health, Allergies & Skin Conditions
Your safety is my priority. Please disclose any relevant health or skin information prior to your appointment.
- Please inform me of any known allergies, sensitivities or skin conditions (including latex allergy, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or cold sores) prior to your appointment.
- I will make every effort to use appropriate products, but I cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free service.
- I reserve the right to decline or adapt a service if a skin condition, cold sore, or open wound is present that may be aggravated by makeup application or poses a risk of cross-contamination.
- Patch tests can be arranged upon request. Please allow at least 48 hours before your appointment.
- I accept no liability for reactions caused by failure to disclose known allergies or sensitivities in advance.

Travel & Location
I am based in Hertfordshire (HP1) and am happy to travel nationwide for the right occasion.
- Travel within 10 miles of HP1 is included at no extra charge.
- Travel beyond 10 miles is charged at 50p per mile (return journey).
- Any parking fees, congestion charges, ULEZ charges, or toll fees will be added to the final invoice.
- For early morning starts requiring travel the evening before, reasonable accommodation costs may be added — this will be agreed in advance and included in your quotation.
- Where the total one-way travel time exceeds 2 hours, the client is required to arrange and fund suitable accommodation local to the getting-ready location for the night prior to the appointment. This ensures Nykkol arrives rested and able to deliver the highest standard of work. Accommodation requirements will be confirmed at the time of booking.
- Accommodation must be of a reasonable standard (private room in a hotel, guest house or similar). Any specific requirements will be discussed and agreed in advance.
- I will always aim to arrive with plenty of time; however, I accept no responsibility for delays caused by circumstances outside my control (e.g. traffic, road closures). I will notify you as soon as possible if running late.
- Travel costs will be clearly itemised in your final quotation prior to booking confirmation.

Timing & Scheduling
To ensure everything runs smoothly on the day, I ask that you provide accurate timings and that all clients are ready and available for their scheduled slot.
- Please provide your ceremony time and the time you need to be ready by when booking, so a realistic schedule can be prepared.
- All members of the bridal party should be available promptly for their allocated time slot.
- Delays caused by clients arriving late, not being ready, or other circumstances outside my control may result in looks being adapted or simplified to meet the deadline.
- I allow approximately 1–1.5 hours for bridal makeup and approximately 1 hour per additional person.
- Any significant change to final numbers must be communicated as soon as possible and may affect the schedule and total cost.
- Where an increase in client numbers or scheduling requirements necessitates an additional assistant artist, a flat fee of £100 will be added to the total booking cost. This will always be discussed and agreed with the client in advance.
- The assistant artist will be sourced and managed by Nykkol and will work to the same high standard. Nykkol remains the lead artist throughout.

Photography & Social Media
I love to share my work and take pride in showcasing the looks I create. With your permission, I may photograph or film my work for use on my website, social media, and portfolio.
- By proceeding with a booking, you consent to photographs being taken of the makeup I have applied for portfolio and social media use, unless you notify me otherwise in writing.
- If you do not wish to be photographed or featured, please let me know at the time of booking and I will respect this completely.
- I will never share images that you have specifically asked to be kept private.
- If you share images of my work on social media, a credit or tag (@makeupbynykkol) is always appreciated but not required.

Liability & Insurance
I carry full professional public liability insurance through Salon Gold, one of the leading insurance providers for beauty and hair professionals. I take every precaution to ensure the safety and quality of my services.
- I accept no responsibility for any allergic reaction or skin irritation caused by failure to disclose known allergies or sensitivities prior to the appointment.
- I am not liable for any loss, damage or additional costs incurred as a result of cancellation or service changes beyond those fees directly paid to me.
- I am not liable for any loss or damage to personal property at the location of the appointment.
- I strongly recommend taking out comprehensive wedding insurance to cover all your suppliers, including makeup artists.
- These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Professional Conduct
I am committed to providing a professional, respectful and enjoyable experience for every client.
- I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a service if I am subjected to unreasonable, abusive or threatening behaviour.
- A calm, well-lit working space is required to carry out makeup application to the highest standard. Please ensure a suitable area is available at the venue or location.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during their appointment.

Assistant Artist
Where the size of a booking or scheduling requirements mean that an assistant artist is needed, the following applies:
- If an assistant artist is required, an additional flat fee of £100 will be added to the total booking cost.
- This may apply where client numbers increase after the initial booking is confirmed, or where timing on the day requires additional support to ensure everyone is ready on time.
- The need for an assistant will always be discussed and agreed with the client in advance — this charge will never be applied without prior notice and agreement.
- A revised quotation will be issued before the additional fee is due.
- The assistant artist will be sourced and managed by Nykkol. Nykkol remains the lead artist throughout and takes full responsibility for the standard of work delivered.
- The assistant artist fee is due at the same time as the final balance — 48 hours prior to the wedding date.

Privacy & Data
Any personal information provided during the booking process (name, contact details, health information) is held securely and used solely for the purpose of managing your booking. It will not be shared with any third party. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting me directly.

Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
These terms were last reviewed and updated in June 2025. Makeup by Nykkol reserves the right to update these terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply.
